B.C. health ministry wants second IT opinion

VICTORIA — B.C. is launching a “thoughtful reset” of computer projects in its health sector after being stung by critical audits, delays, cost overruns and concerns about mismanagement of large-scale technology programs. In an interview, deputy health minister Stephen Brown said he wants to overhaul how his ministry and health authorities handle IT projects, to get realistic about budgets, timelines and expectations that are often not met.
