I am a Registered Nurse and I teach at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in Vancouver, British Columbia. I completed my MSN at the University of British Columbia in 2011 where I first discovered my interest in health information technology. I am especially passionate about integrating Health Information Technologies and the Science of Informatics into nursing education to help improve patient safety and quality of care. I am particularly interested in the role of mobile technologies and their impact on nursing student’s clinical judgment and decision making.

I completed my BSN in South Africa and have many years of national and international experience in Critical Care Units in the UK and the US. I have been teaching at BCIT in the Bachelor of Science Nursing program since 2005.

I hope to provide healthcare professionals with information about technologies that will ultimately support them in making evidence informed decisions to guide their care and improve the quality and safety of patient care.
